If you’re in Wales, there are caring helplines available to provide immediate help and understanding.

Remember, reaching out for help is a sign of strength, and these helplines are here to offer support, understanding, and a friendly ear during challenging times. You don’t have to face this alone.

NHS 111 Mental Health Helpline (24/7)

Reach out to NHS 111 and select option 2 for urgent mental health support. This helpline operates 24/7, offering compassionate assistance when you need it the most. Visit the NHS 111 Wales website to learn more about this service.

Samaritans - A Listening Ear Anytime

When you need someone to talk to, the Samaritans are here for you. They offer a 24/7 service, 365 days a year, where you can call 116 123 (free from any phone) or email jo@samaritans.org 

If you prefer face-to-face support, you can visit some Samaritans branches.

Welsh Language Line: 0808 164 0123 (7pm-11pm daily).

SANEline - Support for Mental Health Concerns

If you’re experiencing mental health challenges or supporting someone else, SANEline is available daily from 4.30pm to 10.30pm.

Reach them at 0300 304 7000 for understanding and guidance.

National Suicide Prevention Helpline UK - A Caring Ear

For anyone grappling with thoughts of suicide, the National Suicide Prevention Helpline UK offers a supportive listening service.

You can call them at 0800 689 5652 daily from 6pm to midnight.

Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) - Your Comfort Zone

If you’re struggling and need someone to talk to, call CALM on 0800 58 58 58 daily from 5pm to midnight.

If you prefer not to speak on the phone, try their webchat service for confidential support.

Shout - Crisis Text Support

If you need immediate help but prefer not to talk, text SHOUT to 85258. Shout provides a 24/7 confidential text service, offering support during times of crisis.

The Mix - Support for Under 25s

For young individuals under 25, The Mix is here for you.

Call them at 0808 808 4994 daily from 3pm to midnight, email them using the form on The Mix website, or use their crisis text messenger service.

Papyrus HOPELINEUK - Help for Under 35s

If you’re under 35 and struggling with suicidal feelings or concerned about a young person in distress, call Papyrus HOPELINEUK at 0800 068 4141 (weekdays 10am-10pm, weekends 2pm-10pm, and bank holidays 2pm-10pm) or text 07786 209 697.

Nightline - Support for Students

If you’re a student, check the Nightline website to see if your university or college offers a night-time listening service. Nightline phone operators are students too.

Switchboard - LGBTQ+ Support

For those identifying as LGBTQ+, Switchboard is a caring helpline. Reach them at 0300 330 0630 daily from 10am to 10pm, email chris@switchboard.lgbt or use their webchat service.

Phone operators are all part of the LGBTQ+ community.

C.A.L.L. - Community Advice and Listening Line (24/7)
